The expert combines economic, econometric and machine-learning modelling with advanced software development, advises on quantitative problems, and helps economists select methods and data that produce efficient, reproducible solutions for Fund business needs.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with economists and financial-sector specialists to select methods and data sets for economic and econometric modelling
  • Develop and implement advanced economic and econometric models for Fund business capabilities
  • Design methodologies, programs and modules in response to complex modelling requests
  • Research and develop algorithms that improve model performance for parallel computing and large-scale simulations
  • Write and maintain computational and data-processing programs, reusable libraries and automated testing frameworks
  • Develop course materials and train users in economic and econometric modelling techniques

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a relevant field plus at least four years of post-graduation professional experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus at least ten years
  • Economic and econometric modelling expertise covering time series, cross-section, panel-data econometrics and macroeconomic models
  • Advanced programming ability in scientific-computing and data-science languages including Matlab, Python and R
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to convey higher-level technical concepts to non-experts
