Job Description
Monitors global financial markets and systemically important institutions for the IMF’s Global Markets Analysis Division in London. The role analyses macro-financial developments and stability risks, develops high-frequency surveillance tools and databases, builds market contacts and contributes to the Global Financial Stability Report, market monitoring and policy-focused research.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Analyse macro-financial developments and financial-stability risks in European, Middle Eastern and African economies
- Contribute analysis to the Global Financial Stability Report, research blogs and ad hoc reports
- Build surveillance tools and databases for high-frequency monitoring across asset classes
- Develop financial-market contacts and brief senior MCM management on emerging risks
- Support IMF outreach activities in London
- Contribute to the Global Markets Monitor and Weekly London Update
- Help manage London-office administrative, security and IT matters
Role Requirements
- Master's degree in finance, economics, econometrics or a related field
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in financial markets or macroeconomic analysis
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets and ability to analyse asset-market developments
- Knowledge of financial and economic databases and information services
- Statement of Interest attached to the application
Desired Criteria
- Advanced knowledge of econometric packages such as EViews, MATLAB, Stata, Python or R
