Job Description

UNECE seeks two Associate Economic Affairs Officers in Geneva to support a project on traceability of sustainable value chains for the green transition. The posts analyse ESG transparency and traceability information, service intergovernmental and expert bodies, prepare economic briefings and reports, organise development discussions, and support technical-cooperation proposals, documentation.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Analyse qualitative socio-economic information on ESG transparency and sustainable-value-chain traceability
  • Prepare economic briefings, speech inputs and materials for non-specialists
  • Prepare inputs and summary reports for intergovernmental and expert bodies
  • Assist in organising panels and round tables on development issues
  • Compile data and information for technical-cooperation project proposals
  • Monitor and assess implementation of technical-cooperation programmes and projects

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in economics or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of experience
  • At least two years of experience in economic research, analysis, policy formulation or development programmes
  • At least one year of experience in ESG transparency and traceability of sustainable value chains
  • English is required

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in the United Nations or similar international organisations
  • Experience in data analytics or a related area
  • French or Russian is desirable
