Job Description

Provides technical, operational and administrative support for UNICEF’s WASH programme in Kharkiv, helping deliver water, sanitation and hygiene results for children. The officer supports programme development, implementation and monitoring; infrastructure documentation, procurement and construction supervision; humanitarian preparedness; partnerships; and capacity building.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support WASH programme development and planning for the Kharkiv Field Office
  • Manage and monitor delivery of WASH programme results
  • Provide technical and operational support for WASH programme implementation
  • Support infrastructure technical documentation, procurement and construction supervision
  • Contribute to humanitarian WASH preparedness and response
  • Build partnerships and support WASH knowledge management and capacity building

Role Requirements

  • First-level university degree in engineering, public health, social science, behavioral science, civil, environmental or industrial engineering, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or a related field
  • At least two years of relevant experience in WASH, water supply, sanitation, hygiene, WASH infrastructure or WASH programmes for developing countries
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official UN language
  • Experience in humanitarian work, including humanitarian WASH
  • Experience in WASH in schools and health centres, environmental and social safeguards or construction contract management
  • Experience in donor reporting
  • Country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
