Job Description
This UN Volunteer supports UNICEF Madagascar’s water-resources baseline from Antananarivo. The assignment inventories hydrogeological and hydrological evidence, consolidates surface-water and groundwater information, analyses water use and risks, convenes sector partners, produces GIS maps and databases, and notes gaps, priorities and recommendations for long-term water monitoring and governance.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Inventory reports, papers and theses for water-resources research
- Collate surface-water, meteorological and groundwater information
- Analyse water use and hazards across watersheds and aquifers
- Map water-sector partners and organize stakeholder meetings
- Develop hydrogeological maps and a structured database
- Report findings, gaps, priorities, recommendations and a work plan
Role Requirements
- Hydrogeology or a related field
- Hydrogeology, handling, analysing, and presenting hydrological and hydrogeological data using GIS
- Required: English
