Specialist in Ecosystems Restoration in Saint LuciaNew

UNEP seeks a home-based international consultant to advance ecosystem-restoration programming for the UN Decade SIDS Restoration Flagship in Saint Lucia. The specialist will prioritise interventions, develop and operationalise a costed Component 2 workplan, strengthen restoration monitoring, coordinate partners and build an investment-ready pipeline linking sustainable blue economy opportunities to national priorities.

• Prioritise national interventions for Component 2 of the SIDS Restoration Flagship
• Develop and validate a costed, results-oriented Component 2 workplan
• Prepare technical scopes, concept notes and implementation arrangements
• Integrate ecosystem restoration with sustainable livelihoods and climate resilience
• Map partners and opportunities for coordinated implementation and co-financing
• Support national uptake of the Framework for Ecosystem Restoration Monitoring
• Develop a restoration-linked sustainable blue economy opportunity pipeline

• Advanced degree in marine sciences, environmental economics, natural resource management, coastal development or a related field, or a first-level degree plus two additional years of qualifying experience
• Seven years of experience in sustainable blue economy strategy or policy, marine resource management, coastal management, catchment management or marine spatial planning
• Experience working in SIDS, preferably in the Caribbean
• Knowledge of international policy frameworks and SDG 14
• Fluency in English
