Provides senior political and strategic advice to the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership, engaging governments, donors and global partners, preparing high-level dialogues and biodiversity events, strengthening advocacy and resource mobilisation, and positioning country implementation ahead of CBD COP17.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Advise the Global Coordination Unit and Co-Chairs on political priorities and engagement strategies
  • Prepare ministerial dialogues, Steering Committee meetings, bilateral engagements and biodiversity events
  • Identify political opportunities and strengthen country ownership of NBSAP implementation
  • Represent the Partnership in high-level meetings, consultations and international events
  • Align political engagement, resource mobilisation and operational delivery across the Partnership
  • Guide positioning, messaging and political-economy analysis ahead of CBD COP17
  • Engage members, supporters and donors to deepen participation and secure long-term funding
  • Open political and institutional pathways for scaled support to national biodiversity plans

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in biodiversity conservation, international development, environmental science, economics, management, behavioural sciences or a related field, or first-level degree with two additional years of experience
  • At least fifteen years of progressively responsible experience building relationships between international organisations and national governments
  • At least five years managing international environmental programmes, strategic alliances, partnerships or resource mobilisation
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Desired Criteria

  • International experience implementing multilateral environmental agreements
  • Track record of raising funds for international initiatives
