Job Description
Acts as the NDC Partnership’s in-country liaison in Uzbekistan, strengthening coordination for national climate action. The facilitator supports government and partner collaboration, resource mobilisation, implementation planning and progress reporting for Nationally Determined Contributions, while building institutional capacity and providing policy advice on climate planning, monitoring and investment priorities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate NDC Partnership communications with national, international and local stakeholders
- Facilitate inter-agency NDC Working Group meetings and document decisions and next steps
- Advise the government on resource mobilisation and identify strategic support needs
- Prepare requests for support, terms of reference and project concept notes
- Map partner support and maintain climate-action support information
- Track and report progress against NDC implementation plans
- Deliver training on NDC digital tools, planning, monitoring and resource mobilisation
- Provide policy advice on NDC and NAP planning, implementation and MRV systems
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in public policy, development, climate change, natural resource management, environmental management or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with seven total years of relevant work experience accepted instead of an advanced degree
- At least five years of relevant climate change, project management, stakeholder or donor-engagement experience
- Experience in climate-change adaptation, policy or Nationally Determined Contribution processes
- Knowledge of Uzbekistan’s climate-policy frameworks, national plans and strategies
- Fluent English
- Fluent Uzbek
- Uzbek nationality or a valid residence permit
Desired Criteria
- Familiarity with UNFCCC processes, including subsidiary bodies and Conferences of the Parties
- Experience in other national climate-change contexts
- Ability to build formal and informal networks across government, private sector, NGOs and other stakeholders
