Social Worker

IOM seeks a Social Worker to support unaccompanied migrant children living in an accommodation centre in Patra. The role delivers social-history assessment, individual case management, referrals and support sessions, and coordinates with guardians and shelter staff on best-interest planning. It also helps children access local services, strengthen community networks, follow health needs and.

• Take social histories and manage individual case files for unaccompanied children
• Facilitate access to community services, social programmes and vocational education
• Organise group and individual support sessions for children in the shelter
• Coordinate best-interest assessments and individual action plans with guardians
• Refer beneficiaries for medical care and monitor vaccination schedules
• Prepare children for transition from the accommodation centre

• University degree in Social Work
• Licensed Social Worker with membership of the Association of Greek Social Workers
• Fluency in Greek and working knowledge of English or French
• Valid residence and work permit for Greece

• Master’s degree in Social Work
• Experience working with children
• Driver’s licence with five years of driving experience
