Job Description

This consultancy provides safe, nurturing childcare for beneficiaries’ children while parents or guardians take part in IOM operational activities. The childminder will lead age-appropriate learning and play, maintain hygienic childcare spaces and supplies, and support children’s wellbeing during resettlement or family-reunification processes in Cox’s Bazar.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide childcare for beneficiaries’ children while family members or guardians participate in operational activities
  • Lead age-appropriate learning activities and games linked to resettlement or family reunification
  • Safeguard toys, books, learning materials, posters and furniture in designated childcare areas
  • Maintain clean and safe childcare spaces and support cleaning tasks throughout the workday
  • Provide food and water safely and hygienically to children as needed
  • Report damaged materials and ongoing supply needs to Operations staff and the Cultural Orientation Facilitator

Role Requirements

  • High School degree in Social Sciences, Education or a related discipline with two years of experience, or Secondary Education with five years of relevant experience
  • Minimum two years of practical experience as a Childminder (Babysitter)
  • Excellent command of English, Bengali and Rohingya in oral and written communication

Desired Criteria

  • A third language is an added advantage
