Job Description
The consultant supports IOM’s protection response for people affected by Colombia’s earthquake. The assignment identifies protection risks, manages individual cases, develops care plans, makes confidential referrals and tracks access to specialised services while maintaining case records, protection-data safeguards and local service mappings with public institutions and civil society.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate territorial protection response with public institutions, local authorities and civil-society organisations
- Identify people with specific protection needs in affected communities and temporary accommodation
- Conduct individual protection needs and risk assessments
- Manage assigned cases from initial assessment through referral, follow-up and closure
- Develop individual care and follow-up plans
- Maintain case information in IOM tools while protecting confidentiality and data
Role Requirements
- Professional degree in social work, psychology, law, social sciences or a related field
- One to two years of professional experience in protection programmes
- Experience managing cases with vulnerable populations
- Experience identifying protection risks and referring people to specialised services
- Fluent Spanish
- Availability to travel
Desired Criteria
- Experience in emergency or disaster response
- Experience with displaced, migrant or refugee populations
- Knowledge of Colombian protection pathways
- Experience in psychological first aid
