Provides project-administration and operational support for UNIDO's Syrian garment-industry recovery project in Damascus. The assistant maintains project records, correspondence, stakeholder data, inventories and budgets; organises meetings and logistics; processes procurement, travel and project transactions; and uses SAP to track project implementation, financial actions and administrative follow-up with the field team and headquarters.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain accessible hard-copy and electronic project records
- Draft correspondence and track pending actions and deadlines
- Collect and update stakeholder, counterpart and beneficiary data
- Manage office supplies, equipment, vehicles and project inventory
- Prepare procurement, travel, expenditure and visa-related requests
- Use SAP to support recruitment, training, procurement and travel actions
- Track project budget expenditure and support budget revisions
- Organise meetings, logistics, presentations, minutes and project communications
Role Requirements
- Completed higher secondary education or equivalent
- At least eight years of experience in project administration, accounting or finance supporting managerial and professional staff
- Understanding of office procedures and practices, preferably in the UN system or a multicultural environment
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic
- Only nationals or permanent residents of Syria are eligible
Desired Criteria
- Administrative, secretarial or clerical training
- Experience with SAP or a similar ERP platform for project management
- Experience evaluating needs and conditions in developing countries
- Ability to research and analyse information
- Ability to write clearly and concisely
