Benefits Assistant

Support the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund's Pension Entitlements Section in New York by administering participant and beneficiary records, answering pension enquiries, and processing benefit-related actions. The role calculates pension options and settlements, verifies eligibility evidence, maintains accurate files, and works with member organisations to resolve pension administration issues under Fund regulations.

• Screen and route incoming pension communications
• Advise participants and beneficiaries on pension entitlements and options
• Research pension rules and resolve issues with member organisations
• Maintain enrolment, status-change and pension documentation
• Calculate benefit options, settlements and periodic pension payments
• Verify eligibility evidence and certificates of entitlement

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least five years of employee benefits administration or related experience, reduced to three years with a first-level university degree
• English at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Authorisation to work for the United Nations in the New York duty station

• United Nations common-system experience
• Pension administration experience
• At least one year of data analytics experience
• IPAS or similar ERP system experience
• Project management experience
