Job Description
The Accounting Assistant supports the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund's Accounts Section in administering pension contributions, reconciling financial records and preparing reports for member organisations and beneficiaries. The role processes remittance schedules, investigates discrepancies, maintains accounting records and databases, and contributes data analysis and information materials that support accurate pension administration.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Process pension-contribution remittance schedules using the Integrated Pension Administration System
- Calculate, enter and check pension contributions and communicate discrepancies
- Generate reports on pension contribution processing
- Record, analyse and reconcile accounting transactions and bank accounts
- Prepare correspondence and reports for member organisations, participants and beneficiaries
- Maintain financial files, databases and distribution lists
- Support data analysis, presentations and information materials
Role Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance or a related area
- English proficiency
- Authorisation to work for the United Nations in the duty station
Desired Criteria
- Experience in the United Nations system or a similar international organisation
- One year or more of experience in data analytics or a related area
