Job Description
Manages centralised accounting for NATO’s special-operations budget, maintaining official accounts, ledgers, payments, receipts and financial statements. The specialist strengthens controls, reconciles reimbursable activity, supports audit readiness and advises budget holders on accurate execution.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Manage cash, treasury, finance and accounting activities for SOFCOM
- Maintain official accounts, ledgers, payments, receipts and budgetary records
- Analyse and reconcile accounts and prepare data for audit and control
- Advise budget and programme holders on accounting status and compliance
- Improve accounting processes, workflows and segregation of duties
- Supervise reimbursable-account reconciliations and quality controls
- Coordinate payroll, travel-service and IPSAS accounting matters
- Operate ERP modules and prepare annual financial-statement data
Role Requirements
- Nationality of one of the 32 NATO member states
- Current or previously held NATO security clearance that can be reactivated swiftly
- Professional experience in finance, business management, accounting or economics
- At least three years of experience using or analysing financial ERP modules
- Broad experience analysing and reconciling accounts, cash flow, forecasts, vouchers, records and controls
- At least three years of experience with office-automation software, particularly spreadsheets
- Required vocational education and three to five years of function-related experience
- English at NATO SLP 3232
Desired Criteria
- Extensive experience with public- or private-sector ERP systems
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience drafting finance procedures, guidance, briefing notes and reports
- Experience as a financial assistant
- University degree or postgraduate diploma in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field
