Senior Accounting Compliance Associate

Supports accounting-compliance reviews for IOM country offices and shared-service teams, analysing financial data, resolving WAVE and reporting issues, strengthening internal controls, and helping offices meet IPSAS and financial-management requirements.

• Guide country, regional and shared-service offices on accounting policies, financial reporting and Oracle ERP processes
• Review trial balances, bank and cash books, vendor accounts, assets and suspense accounts for assigned country offices
• Investigate accounting exceptions, communicate findings and recommend corrective actions
• Monitor review checklists and assess office risk factors to determine review frequency
• Review month-end balances, clearing accounts and reconciliation issues with country offices
• Prepare audit information and maintain compliance-review records and tracking tools
• Train finance staff on accounting compliance and Oracle ERP processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field with four years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with six years of relevant experience

• Certified Public Accountant qualification or equivalent
• Experience with ERP financial systems such as Oracle
• Experience in an international organization or UN agency
