Job Description
The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund is seeking an Accounting Assistant for the Accounts Section in New York. The post reconciles accounting and bank transactions, manages receivables and contribution discrepancies, updates participant records and prepares write-off documentation. It responds to staff and third-party inquiries, supports financial reporting and data presentations, and maintains Pension Administration information materials.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile complex accounting transactions
- Examine and record bank transactions
- Reconcile bank accounts in multiple currencies
- Set up receivables and resolve contribution discrepancies
- Update pension participant records and prepare write-off memoranda
- Collect and analyse data for financial reports and presentations
Role Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of accounting, finance, administrative services or related experience
- English at UN Level II
- Authorization to work for the United Nations in the duty station
Desired Criteria
- Post-employment benefit scheme experience
- Integrated Pension Administration System or similar ERP experience
- UN common-system or comparable international-organization experience
- Data analytics experience
