Senior Logistics Officer

UNSOH seeks a Senior Logistics Officer to manage and coordinate mission logistics in Port-au-Prince. The officer will lead supply-chain, transportation, materials, maintenance, contracts and services; develop logistics plans and forecasts; liaise with Headquarters; advise management; manage civilian-military support operations; lead technical surveys; and prepare logistics for field operations.

• Exercise managerial and supervisory control over logistics support for field missions
• Develop and monitor logistics support plans, forecasts, supply schedules and priorities
• Coordinate multifunctional logistics requirements between UN Headquarters and field missions
• Develop logistics-support policy and procedures
• Act as principal liaison between field missions and Headquarters on logistics matters
• Plan logistics support for new missions and expanded civilian and military operations
• Advise senior management on logistics structures and staffing
• Lead technical survey missions and chair logistics meetings
• Manage an integrated civilian-military mission-support organization

• Advanced university degree in business administration, public administration, management, engineering, law or a related field
• Minimum ten years of progressively responsible experience in land or air transport, logistics operations or related areas
• Experience handling complex logistical and organizational issues in a field-mission environment
• Experience in the United Nations system or a comparable international organization
• English is required
