Roster - Software Developer and Metadata Engineer Consultant for Open Code Infrastructure (OCI)

ITU/WHO/WIPO's Global Initiative on AI for Health seeks a full-stack developer consultant to maintain and enhance the AI4H Evaluation and Annotation platforms and to advance dual Croissant/Bioschemas metadata compatibility. The role covers feature development, bug fixes, metadata engineering and documentation across a Node.js/Next.js/PostgreSQL/AWS stack. Three-month engagement based in Geneva.

• Implement new features and bug fixes across backend, frontend and database
• Ensure code follows existing architectural patterns and coding standards
• Implement and test Croissant repository changes for Bioschemas dual-compatibility
• Create validator/linter rules for Croissant and Bioschemas expectations
• Add unit and integration tests and CI hooks
• Maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting guides

• University degree in computer science, software engineering, IT or related field
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in software development and documentation
• Experience with full-stack TypeScript development (Node.js and a modern React framework)
• Experience with JSON/JSON-LD, schemas and validation
• Intermediate level of English required

• Familiarity with AWS primitives and infrastructure-as-code is a plus
• Knowledge of FAIR principles and ML metadata schemas is a plus
