Job Description

Develops and operates ITU’s Open Code Infrastructure for AI for Health. The consultant builds TypeScript, Node.js and React services, maintains metadata and validation schemas, supports evaluation and annotation platforms, strengthens cloud deployment and security, and documents reliable interoperable data workflows.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Implement features and enhancements across backend services, APIs, frontend interfaces and databases
  • Diagnose and resolve full-stack bugs across OCI platforms
  • Implement Croissant and Bioschemas compatibility changes
  • Create validator, linter, unit, integration and CI checks for metadata interoperability
  • Prepare examples and documentation for dual validation
  • Open upstream pull requests and issues or maintain a BioCroissant extension
  • Maintain architecture, deployment, API and troubleshooting documentation

Role Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field, or equivalent advanced college diploma
  • At least three years of progressively responsible software development and documentation experience
  • Experience in full-stack development with TypeScript on backend services and a modern React framework
  • Experience with JSON or JSON-LD, schemas and validation
  • Experience with the listed OCI technical environment
  • Knowledge of English at advanced level

Desired Criteria

  • Exposure to Croissant or ML metadata schemas
  • Knowledge of another official language of the Union

Additional Information

  • Roster contract for three months

  • Remuneration is CHF 1,000 to CHF 1,500 lump sum, paid in monthly instalments after satisfactory deliverables
