Job Description

Strengthens UNICEF Colombia’s accountability to affected populations and community engagement in humanitarian response. Working across emergencies and sector teams, the volunteer improves feedback mechanisms, social listening and inclusive communication, helping communities access reliable information and ensuring their concerns inform programme decisions, protection and recovery activities.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Integrate SBC, RCCE and accountability approaches across humanitarian interventions
  • Facilitate inclusive community dialogue, listening and participation
  • Strengthen safe feedback, complaint and referral mechanisms
  • Analyse rumours, perceptions and barriers to improve programme decisions
  • Adapt accessible communication materials for affected communities
  • Build capacity of UNICEF staff, partners and local actors

Role Requirements

  • Proven experience designing and coordinating accountability strategies in humanitarian or emergency contexts
  • Experience with social and behavioural assessments, community listening and feedback mechanisms
  • Ability to coordinate partnerships across government, United Nations and civil-society actors
  • Strong analytical, planning, facilitation and communication skills

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in rapid emergency response, inter-agency accountability or digital community engagement
  • Experience designing training and technical mentoring
  • Experience in Colombia or with UNICEF or United Nations systems
  • Master’s degree
