Job Description
Provides environmental and territorial support for UNDP's preparatory work on the Pupuña Indigenous Reserve recognition study in Peru. The assistant reviews socioenvironmental evidence, plans field access and monitoring, assesses environmental conditions, integrates findings with specialists, and prepares technical reports and recommendations to support PIACI protection and the EPR process.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Review and systematise environmental, territorial and socioenvironmental information for the Pupuña Indigenous Reserve request
- Conduct preliminary assessment of environmental, climatic, territorial and logistical conditions affecting field activities
- Propose and apply adaptation measures and technical criteria for environmental, climatic and logistical field conditions
- Plan access to the Pupuña area with the EPR team according to security, accessibility and PIACI protection conditions
- Conduct periodic field monitoring of environmental and territorial conditions, vegetation cover, land use, infrastructure and pressures
- Integrate monitoring findings with EPR specialists and prepare technical reports, matrices, recommendations and documentation
Role Requirements
- Completed secondary education
- At least five years of experience in indigenous peoples, environmental management, territorial governance or public management with secondary education, or two years with a bachelor's degree
- Ability to analyse and systematise socioenvironmental information
- Fluency in Spanish

- Experience related to indigenous peoples in isolation and initial contact
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to analyse environmental, territorial and socioenvironmental information
- Technical writing for reports, opinions and administrative documents
- Ability to plan and organise activities to deadlines
- Ability to coordinate with public entities, indigenous organisations and multidisciplinary teams while handling confidential information
