Job Description

UNDP seeks an analyst and project manager for the Rural Electrification Project in the Republic of the Congo. The role leads planning, implementation, budget oversight, procurement, partnerships and capacity building to expand sustainable energy access. It requires a relevant advanced degree, two years of project, energy, infrastructure or environmental-management experience, and fluent French.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate annual budgeted work plans with project stakeholders
  • Supervise procurement, human-resources, communication and risk-management plans
  • Manage project budgets, accounting, contracts, payments and financial reports
  • Coordinate technical experts and validate technical products
  • Maintain strategic dialogue with government, UNDP and local stakeholders
  • Promote knowledge sharing, mentoring and capacity development

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in energy management, engineering, project management, development economics, environment, natural resources, public policy, law or a related field
  • Two years of relevant project, energy, infrastructure, environmental-management or natural-resource experience with a master’s degree or four years with a bachelor’s degree
  • Fluency in French

Desired Criteria

  • Progressively responsible project or programme management experience
  • Experience with UNDP development-project design, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience with international donors
  • Working knowledge of English
