Job Description

Leads IOM Ireland’s Immigration, Border Governance and Protection Unit, coordinating projects that assist international-protection applicants and people with temporary protection. The officer manages delivery, budgets, staff and partners; mainstreams protection, human rights and gender; develops reporting tools; and advances donor, government and humanitarian coordination on migration needs.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate implementation of Immigration Border Governance and Protection projects
  • Oversee financial, logistical, administrative and technical project aspects
  • Monitor workplans, evaluate results and implement corrective actions
  • Mainstream gender, protection and human rights in project delivery
  • Develop monitoring, evaluation and reporting tools and visibility materials
  • Identify and develop new project opportunities and proposals
  • Coordinate donor and stakeholder reports and ensure timely compliance
  • Liaise with government entities, partners, UN agencies, civil society and donors
  • Supervise, recruit and develop IBG and Protection Unit personnel

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields with four years of relevant professional experience; or a Master’s degree in those fields with two years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience managing projects with yearly budgets over EUR 2 million
  • Experience leading multinational teams exceeding 12 persons
  • Fluency in English, oral and written
  • Valid residence and work permit in Ireland
