Job Description

Provides technical and programme support for UNICEF child-protection interventions in Cameroon, helping government counterparts strengthen protection systems and quality services. The role contributes to programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, while using data and reporting to improve evidence-based responses for vulnerable children in development and emergency settings.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and programme support for implementing child protection interventions
  • Support government counterparts to strengthen child protection systems
  • Help ensure quality protection-service delivery for vulnerable children
  • Contribute to programme design, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Develop integrated strategies and approaches for child protection programmes
  • Analyse data and prepare progress reports aligned with programme goals

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or a relevant social science field
  • At least one year of professional experience in social development planning and management in child-protection-related areas
  • Fluency in French or English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
  • Experience in emergency contexts and child protection case management
  • Country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
