Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

Leads monitoring, evaluation and evidence generation for FAO Zimbabwe programmes, with a focus on resilience outcomes and partner-reported results. The role designs tracking tools and indicators, uses baseline and outcome surveys to demonstrate impact, consolidates project updates, and supports field missions, reporting and technical quality across the ZRBF II programme.

• Design and implement the monitoring and evaluation framework, targets and indicators for FAO Zimbabwe programmes
• Generate evidence of FAO technical contributions and verify results reported by consortium partners
• Design and operationalise a tool to track resilience outcome and output indicators
• Document tangible results using baseline data and outcome-monitoring surveys
• Consolidate quarterly and bi-annual project progress updates
• Update PAID data and project milestones in FPMIS
• Participate in complex field missions and prepare mission summaries
• Produce project progress reports that meet donor requirements

• Advanced university degree in monitoring and evaluation, agriculture, international development, humanitarian studies, sociology, statistics or a related field
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in monitoring, learning and evidence generation, evaluation, research, technical assessment and programme implementation
• Working knowledge of English at level C
• National of Zimbabwe

• Experience conducting complex thematic, programme, portfolio or project monitoring and evaluations
• Ability to synthesise complex evidence into clear and balanced evaluation products
• Experience with FAO tools and procedures for project implementation, monitoring and reporting
• Experience across humanitarian, development and normative contexts
• Previous experience with UN or international organisations in similar positions
