Summary of Responsibilities
- Oversee quality assurance for translation of official FAO documents from English into Chinese
- Plan, coordinate and monitor Chinese translation workflows and external assignments against terminology and document-management standards
- Support planning and delivery of interpretation services for FAO meetings and conferences, including non-FAO languages
- Provide simultaneous and consecutive English-to-Chinese interpretation for high-level official, technical and bilateral meetings
- Prepare post-meeting reports and feedback to improve interpretation quality and efficiency
- Guide interpreters, translators, revisers and terminologists on terminology development and validation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Chinese translation and interpretation services
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in interpreting, translation or terminology, or first-level degree plus two years of relevant experience
- At least 5 years of relevant interpreting, translation or terminology experience
- Chinese mother tongue
- Excellent working knowledge of English at level C
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of another FAO language
