Job Description

This online UN Volunteer mentoring assignment helps UNFPA Burundi interns understand the organisation's work on gender, diversity and inclusion. The mentor supports gender-based-violence awareness, case-data handling, humanitarian reporting, resource mobilisation and practical preparation of workshops and capacity-building activities for staff, interns and partners.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support awareness-raising and gender-based-violence prevention activities in targeted communities
  • Contribute to collecting, entering and analysing data on gender-based-violence cases and referrals
  • Prepare monthly and narrative reports on humanitarian and protection activities
  • Support resource-mobilisation activities
  • Prepare logistical and administrative arrangements for workshops, training and campaigns
  • Take notes at protection and gender-based-violence cluster meetings and follow up recommendations
  • Participate in staff and partner capacity-building workshops on humanitarian action and gender-based violence

Role Requirements

  • University Master/Bachelor level in gender, human rights or a related field
  • Fluent written and spoken French, English and Kirundi
