Job Description
IFAD seeks a Nairobi-based UN Volunteer to provide gender and social-inclusion expertise for rural development projects. The officer will guide project design and implementation, strengthen policy, monitoring and partnerships, train regional colleagues, and develop reports on women, youth, indigenous peoples, people with disabilities and vulnerable rural communities in East and Southern Africa.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide gender and social-inclusion guidance for project design and supervision missions
- Support programme development, knowledge flows and communities of practice
- Strengthen policy, monitoring, knowledge management and partnerships across project activities
- Build capacity of regional IFAD colleagues
- Produce analytical reports and knowledge products from the regional portfolio
- Travel across East and Southern Africa to undertake the assignment
Role Requirements
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience in gender and social inclusion in rural development
- Technical expertise in gender equality and social inclusion for development-project design and implementation
- Understanding of youth, indigenous peoples, people with disabilities and rural social-inclusion issues
- English
