Medical Doctor

Delivers clinical care in MSF field projects while supporting medical protocols, supply management, epidemiological reporting and supervision of medical or paramedical staff.

• Provide outpatient and inpatient consultations, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care
• Monitor patient progress and make referral or discharge decisions
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans and progress to patients and families
• Manage rational use and quality control of medicines, supplies and equipment
• Monitor and report epidemiological data and medical incidents
• Train, supervise and guide medical and paramedical staff
• Implement infection prevention and confidentiality standards
• Manage direct reports, shifts and emergency or on-call participation

• Medical Doctor diploma
• Licence to practise medicine
• At least two years of professional clinical experience after registration
• Experience managing teams and providing training, coaching and supervision
• Experience in an international and culturally diverse environment
• Availability of at least nine to twelve months
• Willingness to work in unstable and insecure areas
• Fluency in English at minimum B2 level

• Diploma in Tropical Medicine is desirable
• Training or work experience in tropical medicine, SRH or infectious disease is highly appreciated
• Minor surgical, obstetrical and gynaecological experience is a strong asset
• Paediatric, emergency room or strong SRH/SGBV background is a strong asset
• Experience working with a similar NGO abroad is a strong asset
