Summary of Responsibilities

  • Plan WatSan activities and review annual budgets
  • Monitor daily implementation of WatSan activities
  • Design and manage water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, hygiene and vector control systems
  • Conduct routine WatSan assessments with medical teams
  • Contribute WatSan inputs to emergency preparedness and response strategies
  • Oversee inventory of WatSan materials and equipment
  • Participate in HR processes for WatSan staff
  • Support infection control by identifying risk factors and solutions

Role Requirements

  • At least two years of hands-on work experience in water, hygiene, vector control or sanitation projects
  • Experience in training, coaching and supervision of staff
  • Good command of at least two languages: English and French or Arabic at minimum B2 level
  • Ability to cope with stress and prioritise workload in high-intensity settings
  • Willingness to work in an unstable and insecure environment
  • Ability to work in an international team
  • Availability of at least six months

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with healthcare water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, hygiene and vector control systems is an asset
  • Degree in public health or environmental engineering is desirable
  • Diverse experience across contexts and cultures is highly desirable
  • Experience in epidemic or outbreak settings is an asset
