Job Description
Develops and operates CERN’s next-generation machine-learning platform for training, deploying and managing AI workloads at scale. The engineer builds cloud-native infrastructure for the High-Luminosity LHC, optimises accelerator and cluster resources, strengthens MLOps workflows and provides reference architectures and best practices for scientific users.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop and operate the next-generation machine-learning platform
- Support model training, hyper-parameter optimisation and serving
- Manage cluster resources and optimise CPU, GPU and RAM usage
- Extend cloud-native infrastructure for scheduling, monitoring and accounting
- Improve MLOps deployment, observability and model lifecycle workflows
- Produce reference architectures, documentation and best practices
- Collaborate with CERN groups and external research and industry organisations
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in Computing Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of machine learning systems and experience deploying and operating services in production environments
- Spoken and written English
- Commitment to learn French
- Candidates who have previously held a CERN staff contract are not eligible
