Overview

Improves an internal platform that converts UN meeting media into verified reporting and analytical outputs through local language-model inference. The intern will expand Python tests, evaluate models and prompts, build deterministic extraction tools and improve modules, documentation and developer workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Author unit and mocked-model tests to improve coverage across priority Python modules
  • Harden pure functions and structured data-extraction paths
  • Design model and prompt evaluations for translation selection and speech-recognition errors
  • Build labelled gold datasets that make evaluation results measurable
  • Develop deterministic pattern, catalogue and fuzzy-matching extraction tools
  • Scaffold modules and utilities within the established software architecture
  • Improve code documentation, refactoring and developer tooling

Requirements

  • Enrolment in or completion of a relevant graduate programme, or enrolment in or completion of the final year of a relevant bachelor’s degree
  • Strong Python proficiency
  • Experience with Pytest and Git
  • Foundational understanding of natural language processing
  • Understanding of large-language-model prompting and evaluation
  • Clean, documented and reproducible coding practice
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
