Overview

Supports satellite-based environmental analytics for Asia-Pacific cities, preparing and validating Earth-observation data on urban heat, land subsidence and air quality. The intern will strengthen reproducible geospatial pipelines, cartographic quality and evidence checks against scientific literature.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and quality-assure satellite and geospatial inputs for environmental analyses
  • Verify spatial and temporal coverage and screen cloud, coherence and data-quality flags
  • Configure new cities in reproducible geospatial pipelines and run screening analyses
  • Compile ground-truth references and validate derived values against scientific literature
  • Prepare comparison tables, validation notes and supporting analytical documentation
  • Support InSAR land-subsidence analysis where technical background permits
  • Produce figures and maps that meet United Nations cartographic standards

Requirements

  • Enrolment in or completion of a relevant graduate programme, or enrolment in or completion of the final year of a relevant bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in Python for geospatial work
  • Working knowledge of QGIS or ArcGIS
  • Knowledge of optical and radar remote-sensing fundamentals
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

  • Unpaid full-time internship for four to six months
  • Work may be fully remote subject to approval or based in Bangkok
  • Interns work 35 hours across five days per week
  • Travel, visa, accommodation and living costs are borne by the intern or sponsoring institution
