ICT Specialist – Software Development

Develops web, data and AI-enabled applications for the UN Development Coordination Office from a home-based duty station. The specialist builds TypeScript, Node.js, React, Python and PostgreSQL solutions, designs APIs and data stores, automates testing, supports cloud delivery, and strengthens AI quality assurance.

Department: UN Development Coordination Office (DCO)

• Develop full-stack web and software features using TypeScript, Node.js, React and Python
• Design APIs, databases, data warehouses and lakehouse components
• Build and quality-assure AI-enabled applications and agentic workflows
• Create automated tests and resolve bugs and user issues
• Improve performance, scalability, security and user experience
• Support Azure, Docker and Kubernetes deployment workflows

• Master’s degree in an ICT-related field with five years of relevant experience, bachelor’s degree with seven years, or secondary education with eleven years
• Experience developing and maintaining database-driven web applications
• Experience with TypeScript, Node.js and React
• Software-testing experience with frameworks such as Jest, Mocha or Cypress
• Experience developing AI-driven applications or complex agentic workflows
• Fluency in English
