Job Description
Provides technical support, system and data maintenance for WFP's information-technology services in Liberia. The assistant maintains equipment, records, servers and telecommunications systems; resolves user queries and trains staff; and improves operational processes so that technology, information security and reliable communications enable efficient country-office delivery.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Perform system maintenance, monitoring, diagnostics and optimization to keep systems effective
- Maintain and configure IT equipment, storage and access controls in line with data-security requirements
- Prepare inventory, archive and web-content records to keep information accurate and current
- Respond to staff technology and systems queries and train end users on standard tools
- Deploy and test server hardware and software and identify operating problems
- Install, operate and maintain telecommunications systems and equipment
Role Requirements
- Completed secondary school education
- Fluency in oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station's language, if different
Desired Criteria
- Post-secondary certificate in a related functional area
- Experience resolving complex technical issues
- Experience defining functional requirements with heads of unit
- Experience applying client-service standards to resolve or escalate service problems
