Job Description
Coordinates WFP’s technology response to humanitarian emergencies, supporting the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster and rapid deployment of FITTEST services. The consultant leads field technology projects, assesses urgent communication needs, develops operational plans and budgets, coordinates partners and government counterparts, and strengthens preparedness, digital assistance and sustainable local capacity in crisis operations.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support management of technology scale-up responses
- Lead emergency technology projects in field operations
- Manage Emergency Telecommunications Cluster, security telecommunications and service-agreement projects
- Assess and prioritise technology needs for affected communities
- Develop concepts of operations, staffing plans, budgets and implementation plans
- Coordinate IT and cluster meetings on communication needs and solutions
- Mobilise resources and build local capacity for sustainable services
- Liaise with governments and humanitarian partners on telecommunications issues
Role Requirements
- University degree in technology, business management or a relevant field with at least eight years of relevant experience, or relevant post-secondary education with extensive practical field experience
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Intermediate knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish or Portuguese

- Roster consultancy for 11 months
- Remote administrative base in Dubai with long-term field missions, often in hardship duty stations
- Must be able to travel to emergencies within 24 hours
