Responsibilities
- Lead telecommunications preparedness projects across five North Pacific countries
- Adapt assessment methods, preparedness indices, simulation packages and operating procedures
- Coordinate disaster offices, ICT authorities, regulators, providers and humanitarian partners
- Maintain country ICT profiles covering infrastructure, gaps, regulation and network resilience
- Deploy for telecommunications assessments, missions, workshops and simulation exercises
- Plan, monitor and report multi-country preparedness initiatives
- Deliver national and regional training as an emergency-telecommunications specialist
- Develop knowledge products documenting lessons, practices and innovation
Requirements
- Education or expertise in engineering, telecommunications, information technology, disaster-risk reduction or related technology and disaster-management fields
- Experience deploying, managing and configuring satellite and radio communications assets
- Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of United Nations policies and functions
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Excellent spoken and written English
