Responsibilities

  • Lead emergency-telecommunications preparedness and resilience projects
  • Develop and refine national plans, assessment tools, guidelines and procedures
  • Coordinate government agencies, regulators, telecom providers and humanitarian partners
  • Maintain an ICT country profile covering infrastructure, gaps and disaster risks
  • Deploy for telecommunications assessments and project missions
  • Design and deliver workshops, training and simulation exercises
  • Build national and provincial emergency-communications capacity
  • Represent the cluster and document lessons and best practice

Requirements

  • Relevant background in engineering, telecommunications, information technology, disaster-risk reduction or related fields
  • Experience deploying, managing and configuring satellite and radio communications assets
  • Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills
  • English
