ETC Preparedness and Response Officer, Vanuatu

Lead emergency-telecommunications preparedness and resilience work in Vanuatu, aligning projects with national disaster priorities. The volunteer develops plans and assessments, coordinates government and telecom partners, evaluates infrastructure, deploys on missions and builds national response capacity.

• Lead emergency-telecommunications preparedness and resilience projects
• Develop and refine national plans, assessment tools, guidelines and procedures
• Coordinate government agencies, regulators, telecom providers and humanitarian partners
• Maintain an ICT country profile covering infrastructure, gaps and disaster risks
• Deploy for telecommunications assessments and project missions
• Design and deliver workshops, training and simulation exercises
• Build national and provincial emergency-communications capacity
• Represent the cluster and document lessons and best practice

• Relevant background in engineering, telecommunications, information technology, disaster-risk reduction or related fields
• Experience deploying, managing and configuring satellite and radio communications assets
• Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills
• English
