Job Description
Supports UNFPA in Djibouti to strengthen women’s community associations and mutual groups while expanding locally viable value chains and collective economic initiatives. The consultant will provide community diagnosis, coaching and training, link groups to health and public services, and advance women’s economic empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and violence prevention.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Map women’s groups, community associations and local economic opportunities
- Diagnose organisational, community and economic capacity needs
- Coach regional mutual associations and strengthen governance and accountability
- Support creation of women’s community mutual groups in Djibouti City
- Integrate sexual and reproductive health and violence-prevention referrals into community plans
- Link associations with health services and relevant ministries
- Identify and develop local value chains and women-led cooperatives
- Develop participatory social-norm monitoring and capitalisation tools
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree
- At least seven years of experience in community development, community-based organizations or local economic development
- Experience supporting women’s associations, cooperatives or community networks
- Experience in value-chain analysis and income-generating activities
- Excellent French and good English
Desired Criteria
- Experience in Djibouti, the Horn of Africa or a comparable sociocultural context
- Experience with UNFPA or another United Nations organization
- Knowledge of Arabic, Somali or Afar
