Job Description
Provides high-level policy advice and capacity-development support to governments on localising the Sustainable Development Goals. Based in DESA’s public-institutions division, the adviser strengthens multilevel governance, local public-service innovation, policy coherence and monitoring frameworks, while translating global practice into training, partnerships and technical-cooperation initiatives across developing countries.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Advise governments on multilevel governance and SDG localisation
- Develop policies, tools, indicators and monitoring frameworks
- Design and implement capacity-development programmes
- Facilitate knowledge exchange, workshops and training
- Build partnerships and support resource mobilisation
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in public administration, local development, public policy, political science or a related field
- At least seven years of relevant experience in SDG localisation
- At least five years of local-governance and public-institution experience
- English is required

- Experience developing policy guidance on SDG localisation is desirable
