Job Description

Support UNESCO Bangkok's Education for Health and Well-being programme during the inception of a gender-transformative education project. The consultant will coordinate country activities and partners, support Lao PDR stakeholder engagement and baseline work, track results and deliverables, contribute to pedagogy pilots, and produce reports and concept notes for education partners.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor inception activities with field offices, partners and project timelines
  • Facilitate regional coordination and cross-country learning with governments, networks and partners
  • Support Lao PDR stakeholder mapping, governance mechanisms and inception consultations
  • Coordinate baseline data collection and evidence-generation against the Results Framework
  • Track deliverables and milestones and prepare consolidated progress reporting
  • Provide technical quality assurance for gender-responsive pedagogy pilot testing and project concept notes

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in education, social sciences, gender studies, international development or a related field
  • At least two years of project-management experience in education programming, gender equality, comprehensive sexuality education or school-related gender-based violence
  • At least one year of international development or cooperation experience
  • Excellent English writing and speaking

Desired Criteria

  • Teacher education and training experience is a strong asset
  • Experience in Asia is a strong asset
  • Experience with UN agencies, regional education networks or development partners is desirable
