Human Resources Officer (Services)

Manages human-resources services for UNRWA’s West Bank portfolio, supervising staff and administering appointments, leave, allowances, retirement, separation and personnel records. The officer ensures compliance with agency rules, oversees insurance operations, approves HR transactions and records, prepares statistical HR reports, and provides cover within the Human Resources Services Division.

• Manage services and activities for the assigned human-resources portfolio
• Supervise staff, provide coaching and allocate work
• Administer appointment records, leave, allowances, retirements and separations
• Ensure compliance with agency rules, regulations, policies and directives
• Review authorised personnel-action forms and HR transactions relating to entitlements and records
• Prepare statistical and other human-resources reports for the assigned portfolio

• University degree in human resource management, business or public administration
• Five years of relevant human-resource-management experience in an international, governmental or commercial organization, including three years at supervisory level
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, internet and office technology equipment
• Residence in West Bank or Jerusalem within commuting distance and authorization to work at the duty station
• English and Arabic are required

• West Bank or Jerusalem residence and identification is desirable
