Job Description

Manage IOM Bangladesh’s country-office human-resources function and sub-offices, advising leadership on policy, workforce planning and staff administration. The officer supervises HR transactions, payroll, records and WAVE HCM operations; guides recruitment, entitlements, training and performance management; coordinates with headquarters and partners; and strengthens controls and audit follow-up.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Oversee country-office and sub-office human-resources management
  • Advise management on HR policies, rules, regulations and staffing issues
  • Supervise HR transactions, contracts, personnel actions and staff records
  • Maintain WAVE HCM and oversee accurate national-staff payroll
  • Coordinate recruitment, performance management, training and staff development
  • Monitor HR controls, audit recommendations and personnel-administration reporting

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human resources, business administration, industrial and organisational psychology, social sciences or a related field with five years of relevant experience, or a university degree with seven years
  • Fluency in English, oral and written
  • High computer literacy with good knowledge of MS Office and Oracle
  • Internationally recruited professional staff must be mobile

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in an international organisation
  • Experience in Africa or developing countries
  • Familiarity with the UN common system or similar systems
  • Working knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
