Job Description

The Camp and Community Services Officer leads UNRWA camp coordination in Nablus, representing the Agency with authorities, refugees and humanitarian partners. Internal fixed-term role directs community-service operations, supervises camp personnel, monitors protection and security risks, coordinates programme responses and emergency preparedness, and communicates with residents and beneficiaries.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Represent UNRWA at camp and surrounding-community level with authorities, refugee representatives and humanitarian organizations
  • Coordinate programmes, local actors and community representatives to address camp problems and service continuity
  • Identify and report security risks and incidents and maintain evacuation planning and safety equipment
  • Monitor neutrality violations and protection issues and support Agency responses with protection teams
  • Direct Camp and Community Services Office activities and supervise sanitation workers, foremen and guards
  • Manage emergency preparedness and response and contribute plans, procedures and situation reports

Role Requirements

  • University degree in business administration, law, development, human science or a related field
  • At least five years of experience in humanitarian, community or social development
  • Proven understanding of humanitarian and political challenges facing Palestine refugees
  • English is required
  • Applicants must reside in the West Bank or Jerusalem, be within commuting distance and have authorization to work at the duty station
  • Vacancy is open to internal candidates only
