Job Description
UNEP seeks a consultant to strengthen partnerships and engagement with Canada. The consultant will map Canadian environmental priorities, identify opportunities and risks, develop partnership and resource-mobilisation strategies, facilitate dialogue with government and stakeholders, and support meetings and missions that advance UNEP’s climate, biodiversity and sustainable-development objectives.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Deepen strategic relationships with Canadian government institutions and stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for joint initiatives and strategic engagement with Canada
- Provide analysis on Canadian environmental and foreign-policy priorities
- Facilitate dialogue between UNEP and Canadian counterparts
- Support meetings, consultations, missions and resource mobilisation
Role Requirements
- Master degree in international relations, political science or equivalent field
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental matters and environmental policy priorities
- Fluency in oral and written English
Desired Criteria
- Fundraising and partnership-building experience in the environmental field
- Experience with the Canadian federal government
- Knowledge of UNEP mandate, governance and intergovernmental processes
- Experience in environmental diplomacy or multilateral environmental governance
- Knowledge of another official UN language
