Job Description

UN Women seeks a national consultant to lead municipal engagement on gender-responsive energy and climate planning in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The consultant will design practical methods and materials, contribute to stakeholder dialogues and capacity development, facilitate municipal sessions, and document women’s priorities and recommendations for inclusive energy and climate planning.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Contribute municipal-planning inputs to Gender and Energy Poverty Dialogues
  • Develop municipal engagement methodology, session plans and practical tools
  • Develop criteria for selecting suitable municipalities
  • Lead and facilitate three municipal engagement sessions
  • Support discussion of women’s priorities with municipal stakeholders
  • Prepare the Municipal Engagement Summary Report

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or first-level degree with two additional qualifying years
  • At least five years of municipal energy and climate planning experience
  • At least three years developing methodologies, tools or materials for municipal planning
  • At least five years designing and facilitating participatory planning or stakeholder engagement
  • Fluency in Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian and in English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of sustainable energy and gender dimensions
  • Knowledge of participatory municipal governance
  • Ability to translate evidence into practical implementation guidance
  • Experience building relationships with municipal authorities and civil society
