Job Description
Develops an atlas of Kyrgyzstan’s best trekking routes for the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, the national mountaineering federation and tourism agency. The four-month national consultant will plan route research, compile descriptions, maps and photographs, prepare monthly progress reports, finalise the atlas design so tourism information supports sustainable mountain-region development.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Draft a workplan covering specific trekking tracks and deadlines
- Submit atlas contents for review and approval
- Prepare monthly progress reports against agreed deliverables
- Develop route descriptions, logistics, highlights and geological and weather information
- Collect route maps and photo materials with photographer approval
- Submit draft atlas content, finalise design and layout and provide a final report
Role Requirements
- University degree in environmental studies, journalism, industrial engineering, tourism or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in climate change, journalism, sustainable development, environmental protection or tourism
- Professional fluency in Russian and Kyrgyz
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office
Desired Criteria
- Experience developing standards or guides for mountain, climbing, off-piste skiing or trekking guides
- Experience with international development partners or projects
- Professional fluency in English
