Job Description

Coordinates FAO's Kyrgyzstan forest and rangeland climate-investment project, ensuring activities, budgets, reporting and partner obligations remain aligned with agreed plans. The role leads operational coordination with government, consultants and partners, oversees financial delivery and project reporting, and supports climate-resilient natural-resource management outcomes.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project activities against workplans, budgets and risk-mitigation plans
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of the annual workplan and budget
  • Coordinate communication with local authorities and project partners
  • Prepare workplan revisions and budget justifications
  • Oversee project workshops, events and related logistics
  • Guide consultants and subcontractors against agreed workplans and terms of reference
  • Monitor expenditure, commitments and financial delivery targets
  • Prepare progress reports for government ministries and project stakeholders

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in forestry, agriculture, international development, environment, social sciences, public administration or a related field
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience coordinating complex climate-change development programmes
  • Working knowledge of English
  • Nationality of the Kyrgyz Republic

Desired Criteria

  • Russian and Kyrgyz language skills
  • Experience facilitating high-level meetings and consultations
  • Experience collaborating with ministries and government agencies
  • Experience preparing analytical and strategic reports
