Job Description

Coordinates Brazil’s delivery of the CB-ACES circular-economy project, leading the local project team, workplans, budgets, procurement, monitoring and donor reporting while linking government, private-sector and development partners to implement climate and biodiversity interventions.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed workplans, budgets and monitoring tools with the Project Manager
  • Coordinate national project delivery, quality control and monitoring across circular-economy interventions
  • Lead the local project team and coordinate consultants, contractors and national experts
  • Liaise with government counterparts and act as the project's national focal point
  • Prepare procurement specifications, tender questions and evaluations under UNIDO rules
  • Monitor project administration, finances and results and produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Lead steering-committee preparations and maintain partnerships with public, private and development actors
  • Produce and disseminate final reports, success stories and replicable approaches

Role Requirements

  • Brazilian nationality or permanent residence
  • Advanced degree in economics, engineering, sciences, environment, business administration or a related discipline, or a first degree or advanced technical diploma with five additional years of relevant experience
  • At least five years of experience coordinating national development or technical-cooperation programmes
  • Experience assessing country needs, conditions and problems
  • Project-management experience in circular economy or a related field
  • Ability to engage government, private-sector and civil-society institutions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and working knowledge of Portuguese

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with development agencies, donors, government or private-sector institutions
  • Experience at the intersection of circular economy, climate mitigation or biodiversity protection
  • Experience in large international project consortia
  • Experience with results-based monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Knowledge of gender-responsive and socially inclusive technical cooperation
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems
